Indiana students are required to attend school 180 days. When possible, school is made up through eLearning days. MHS and PHMS students should always take their Chromebooks home. If weather predictions make an eLearning day likely, elementary schools will send home Chromebooks as well. Even without Chromebooks, eLearning assignments can also be completed on any device with Internet access (smartphone, tablet, game system, etc.).
Pre-recorded (“Asynchronous”) Instruction
Indiana schools are allowed to have up to 3 asynchronous days of instruction per school year. If the school day is asynchronous, a student should complete their work on the eLearning day but may log in to their assignments at any time. Teachers will also host office hours on asynchronous days to check email and messages for any student questions.
MHS & PHMS: Students Log in to Canvas to complete assignments on their own schedule, using the same logins they use during the school day all year.
Elementary Schools: Login to Clever and utilize Google Classroom to complete assignments, using the same logins they use during the school day all year.
Live (“Synchronous”) Instruction:
As often as possible, schools will complete synchronous instruction. The synchronous schedule includes:

Attendance & Assignment Completion
Student attendance on a eLearning day is based on assignment completion. Students should complete all assignments as soon as they are able. If students are unable to complete assignments on that day due to power outage, etc., they have 5 school days to complete the assignment (typically assignments made on a Monday will be due the next Monday).
As always, please work directly with your child’s teacher if you have any questions about assignments or getting them completed
