HIGH ABILITY PHILOSOPHY
The Mooresville Schools High Ability Program provides a comprehensive K–12 continuum of services designed to identify, support, and challenge students with high abilities. Through rigorous, engaging, and appropriately paced instruction in the core academic areas, we foster an environment where students can maximize their potential, cultivate their talents, and pursue advanced levels of learning. Our program emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and deep conceptual understanding, empowering students to achieve academic excellence and become lifelong learners.
DEFINITION OF HIGH ABILITY
A student with high abilities is one who
performs at, or shows the potential for performing at, an outstanding level of
accomplishment in at least one academic domain when compared to other students
of the same age, experience, or environment; and is characterized by
exceptional gifts, talents, motivation, or interests

The Mooresville Schools High Ability Program will ensure equitable access to a continuum of K–12 services that promote acceleration, enrichment, and in-depth exploration of core academic content, empowering students to develop deep conceptual understanding, intellectual curiosity, and the skills necessary for success in college, careers, and lifelong learning.
