Welcome to Newby Memorial Elementary School!
Thank you for visiting our webiste. As the new principal at Newby Memorial I cannot say enough positive things about the students staff and parents. We truly are a family here at Newby and as a family we are always looking out for what is best for our students. We are continuously updating our page with up to date information and breaking news, so please check back often. If you are a prospective family, please contact our office at 831-9212 to schedule a tour and a meeting with me to discuss your child's education at Newby.
When you walk through the doors at Newby Elementary School you will see a community of learners working in a collaborative atmosphere to provide growth opportunities for all students daily. Our collaborative model, made up of, students, staff, parents, and community members, has developed an academic program and atmosphere which assures that every child learns. We are proud of our work and being recognized by the Indiana Department of Education for being an A rated school.
On a daily basis our staff is meeting together to discuss building issues, collect data, and analyze student data in order to drive instruction. Each grade level has chosen Essential Learning Skills that students must master before going on to the next grade level. These skills are taught during Core Instruction time as well as remediated or enriched during TIER 2 (SUCCESS) and TIER 3 instruction. Parents are notified throughout the school year concerning their child's growth for mastery of the Essential Skills. During the 2016-17 school year we will continue using the newly adopted Indiana College and Career Readiness Standards (2014) a copy of these can be found by clicking here.
We are proud of the caring community that is Newby Memorial Elementary School and the outstanding individuals that define our school- students, staff, parents, and community members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 831-9212 ext. 2602.
