FOR (Friends of Rachel) Club
The MHS FOR Club is committed to spreading kindness to others.
About Friends of Rachel
The MHS FOR Club began in October 2015, after we saw an inspiring convocation about Rachel Scott, a Colorado teenager who was a victim in the Columbine High School shooting in 1998. Rachel left behind writing about creating a chain reaction of kindness which inspired the Rachel's Challenge movement and Friends Of Rachel clubs across the country. Learn more here about Rachel's Challenge.
During the 2015-16 school year, the MHS FOR Club helped spread awarness to knock out negativity in a teacher versus teacher boxing match. We showed our cafeteria workers, custodians and bus drivers how much they are valued and respected among the students with gift bags with than you notes inside.
In 2016-17, we are working on gift bags for new teachers, custodians, and cafeteria workers. We will also have a quote of the month posted in the cafeteria to go along for our theme of the month. For the month of August, the theme is start a chain reaction. Every week students are honored for doing the right thing inside and outside the classroom. These kids are honored for are perseverance, patience, character, kindness, honesty, and enthusiasm.
