Welcome to the Mooresville High School!
Mooresville HS is a great place where students have entered to grow in wisdom for over 150 years. I am very proud to be a Pioneer.
1-1 Laptops: All students at MHS have access to laptops to enhance their learning. The Google Chromebooks provide our students with the opportunity to extend their learning as they are prepared to become leaders in the community, state, and world. Student use Convas as their student learning system. Find policies and proceduers in the One-to-One Program Guide.
Professional Learning Communities (PLC): Though not as visible to parents, students, and communities, another important change at MHS will be content-focused PLC’s. Four mornings a week, MHS teachers will participate in PLC’s that focus on their professional development in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Each PLC will focus on (1) what students need to know, (2) how students will demonstrate their knowledge, (3) how we will assist students who don’t demonstrate mastery, and (4) how we will enrich learning for students who have demonstrated mastery. Through the PLC process, teachers will demonstrate they are life-learners and they are dedicated to every student’s success at MHS.
Students and parents are able to track student progress on Skyward, our student information system. 60-second videos are available to assist parents in using Skyward. Find the helpful Skyward videos for parents here.
To see where we are heading as a school, read our School Improvement Plan. This plan includes information about MHS and school data. It is also contains information about our goals to increase our graduation rate and our percentage of graduates earning Honors diplomas.
It is truly an exciting time to be a MHS Pioneer! Feel free to contact me with comments and questions at email@example.com. I also frequently send out information via Twitter - https://twitter.com/MHSPrincipalDis . I am looking forward to continuing to work with the entire Mooresville community in the education of our young men and women.
With Pioneer Pride,
Dr. Brian Disney, Principal
