Our parents and families are our school's best resources. We appreciate all of those who prepare their children to learn each day and who participate in their child's education. If you have not had the chance to do so, please get to know your child's Parent-Teacher Organization (elementary and middle schools) or various parent groups at the middle and high schools (athletics, fine arts, post prom, and more). Contact the school for information about specific parent groups.

Parent Communication System
Communications between school and home have never been more important -- for weather notification, emergency alerts or other important announcements. At Mooresville Schools, we utilize a message broadcast system which enables school personnel to notify all households and parents by phone, email and text within minutes of an emergency, inclement weather, unplanned event or other school communication need.
This notification service, provided by SchoolReach, has the flexibility to provide voice, text and email messages based upon the contact information we have on file for your student. We will also continue to report school closings or delays through local radio and television stations as well as our website and social media, including our Facebook and Twitter pages. Volunteering at Our Schools
All schools have opportunities for parent, grandparent, and community volunteers. If you have time available to help with class events and activities, library services, or other projects, please contact the school you are interested in helping. Volunteers who spend one-on-one time with children or who will be traveling with children are subject to criminal background checks. Please fill out the form and return it to your child's school if you are interested in serving as a volunteer or chaperone.
Assisting Students in Need
Through our Counselors and Family Service Coordinators, we assist families in need to help keep their students on a "level playing field" with their peers. Our district also partners locally with Churches in Mission to help provide school supplies to all students in need prior to the start of school. Donations of new school supplies are welcomed and appreciated. Contact our Family Service Coordinators if you have clothing items you would like to donate.
Student Accident Insurance
Families may purchase student accident insurance for the 2013-2014 school year for daily coverage as well as for student athletics. Learn more about the coverage provided or visit the insurance provider page.
Supporting Our Schools
Many schools have donation and fundraising oppportunities to help us provide the best possible programs for our students. Donations of Box Tops for Education, Campbells Soup Labels, and other such program items are welcome, as our donations to the paper recycling containers on each campus. Donations of other items, such as books for a school or classroom library, are welcome as well. Please contact the school you wish to assist for specific donation information.
