The Mooresville School Board has announced that Nikki Moore will join the Mooresville Schools administrative team and become assistant principal at Neil Armstrong and North Madison elementary schools.
“Nikki Moore has always been a strong teacher and team player at Mooresville Schools,” said Superintendent Randy Taylor. “We know that she’ll continue to do great things as an administrator.”
The split position is a new one for Mooresville Schools. The two elementary schools have more than 540 students each.
Moore has been with Mooresville Schools for 16 years, serving most recently as a second grade teacher at North Madison.
“I’m excited to be continuing my journey at North Madison while also starting a new chapter by joining the Neil Armstrong team,” said Moore. “Mooresville teachers and administrators are focused on doing what's best for our students and I'm honored to be a part of that mission.”
Moore, a Mooresville High School alumnus, was named Mooresville’s Teacher of the Year in 2014. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Franklin College and her Master’s Degree from Western Governor’s University. Moore is also a Teach Plus Policy Fellow, who has served on state and federal committees advocating for students. She will assume her assistant principal duties immediately.
Moore and her husband Ryan have two children, son Ethan and daughter Halle.
