Newby Memorial Elementary School will start 2017 with a new principal in the building.

Robert Adamson comes to Mooresville from Beech Grove, where he served most recently as assistant principal and technology integration specialist of Central Elementary School.  Adamson’s experience also includes serving as a teacher and master teacher at Beech Grove High School and teaching at Evansville Bosse High School. He replaces Krista Nelson, who has accepted a principal position in another district.

“I am very excited for Newby Memorial Elementary School as Rob Adamson is named principal,” said Dr. David Marcotte, Superintendent of Mooresville Schools. “He closely fits the desired leadership traits as expressed by both Newby staff and parents.  Mr. Adamson brings a great deal of experience in working hard with families and teachers to create an atmosphere of community and team.  Newby will be in good hands as we move forward to even greater heights.”

Adamson’s experience includes working with positive behavior programs, working on individualized education planning for students with special needs, and more strongly integrating technology into student instruction as well as initiating and coordinating tutoring programs in both Evansville and Beech Grove,  Adamson also has a great deal of experience in analyzing data and supporting classroom instruction to improve student achievement.

Adamson received his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University and his Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University. He and his wife, Emily, have two children.
