Student Health Services

Mooresville Schools Student Health Services provide healthcare support for more than 4,500 students in our seven school buildings. Our staff strives to work with parents to keep students as safe and healthy as possible. Please review the following information as well as all letters and items distributed through our schools. If you have any questions about district health information, please contact student health services coordinator  Melissa Wymer at Mooresville High School.

The grace period for obtaining immunizations to remain in school ends after school has been in session 20 days. Please contact your family physician or the Morgan County Health Dept. (765-342-6621) if your child requires additional vaccinations.

Please be sure to contact Health Services if your child requires medications or has a health care need that may need special consideration. Any allergy information or care plans are required to be renewed each year.

Indiana State Law (IC 20-30-5-18) requires that school systems provide important information to parents and guardians of all students about meningitis. Infections caused by the Neisseria meningitides bacteria are serious and symptoms may include high fever, headache, stiff neck, nausea, confusion and a rash. There are two vaccines that can prevent most cases of meningitis caused by this bacteria. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends vaccination for all children 11-18 years of age with a booster at 16 years of age. One dose is required by state law for children in grades 6-12. Please contact your health care provider for more information.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's health, please contact the health representative at the school your child attends.
