Little Pioneers Preschool

Welcome to the Little Pioneers Preschool Program, an all-day community preschool for children at Waverly Elementary designed for children who have turned 4 before August 1st, 2021 and who are potty-trained. Our program will be academically-focused and play-based.  The program is designed to prepare students for Kindergarten academics as well as instill a love of learning. There will be space for 20 students in each Pre-K classroom.  The cost of the program allows a child to attend 5 full days a week.

Instructional Time: 9:00-3:15

Drop Off: 8:30

Pick Up: 3:30

Available Extended Care: 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Sign-up and Enrollment Process

Anyone interested in enrolling a student in the Little Pioneers Preschool Program for the 2021-2022 school year should complete the online registration form found at this online enrollment link. The sign-up period will be open between Wednesday, February 10, 2021 and Friday, April 9, 2021.  Students will be admitted into the program on a first-come, first-served basis based on the completion date of this form. Parents will be notified on Monday, April 12, 2021 if their child has been admitted into the program or if their child has been placed on the waiting list. Once a family has been notified that their child will be attending the preschool, the next step will be to complete the enrollment process and to pay the $25 non-refundable registration fee.  In the event that additional space becomes available, families on the waiting list will be notified.


Extended Care

Additional care is available from 6:30-8:30 a.m. and/or 3:30-6:00 p.m. This service will be provided through REC&U. Information about REC&U enrollment will be included at the time of acceptance notification. To learn more about REC&U from the Mooresville Parks website.


Curricular Description

The instructional part of the day will include curriculum based on the Foundations to the Indiana Academic Standards for Young Children from Birth to Age 5. The Indiana Department of Education has created a quick guide for parents about these standards. To learn about our day-to-day activities and overall program, Please read through our Preschool Handbook and the Late Departute Policy. Families will also be responsible for purchasing supplies.
