At Mooresville Consolidated
schools, we understand that it may be difficult for some students
to report threatening behavior or unsafe situations for fear
of retaliation. For this reason, we want to remind students,
parents and community members that the corporation has an anonymous
safety hotline available.
The
hotline, 834-TIPS (8477), lets the caller leave an anonymous voicemail
message to inform corporation
officials about a safety or security concern. The hotline is
designed for those who want to report concerns involving the
unsafe situations at schools, on school buses, at school events,
etc. Callers are asked to leave as much information as possible
about the situation so that school personnel may follow up appropriately.
The system, which was
implemented in the 1999-2000 school year, is intended for use
to report suspicious activity, bullying, or unsafe situations.
Callers should leave a message regarding the situation so school officials
may investigate. The message light is monitored by corporation office
personnel
during normal business hours. Any immediate threat should be reported
to local law enforcement.
