The
MCSC Food Services Department is proud to provide nutritious breakfasts and lunches
for thousands of students at the seven MCSC schools each day.
The Food Services Department serves meals every school day, including half-days of school, that meet USDA guidelines and school meal regulations.
School meal menus are provided to all elementary school students, posted
in MCSC classrooms, distributed
to the Mooresville
Times and posted on our web pages (see links on left). All menus include a main entree' choice as well as vegetarian entree' choices of yogurt, salad, or peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Extra ala carte items such as milk, juice, and snacks may also be purchased. In addition, middle and high school students main choose from several additional entree' and side item selections in the ala carte line. Parents who do not want their children to purchase extra items can contact their school's cafeteria manager about blocking this option on their child's school meal account.
School meals prices for 2012-13 are $1.70 for breakfast (all schools), $2.20 for elementary school lunch and $2.45 for middle and high school lunch. Free and Reduced-price meal benefits are available to students of households who qualify. Free and Reduced-price Meal Applications for meal benefits as well as textbook assistance are available in each school building and on this website. Only one application per household is needed. A new application must be filled out each year for meal benefits to continue. If you have questions regarding the online app, please email Theresa Stuckey.
For students in need, a summer lunch program is available at Newby Elementary as well as at nearby Brooklyn Elementary. The summer lunch menu is available here.
